This is not your typical story. A Song of Hope is about a boy who comes to a great discovery, about himself, about life, and about Christianity. Jesse lives in picturesque and historic Natchez, Mississippi, with its beautifully restored antebellum mansions, art galleries, and festivals. Natchez takes pride in being the oldest settlement on the Mississippi River. However, life for Jesse is anything but festive. Jesse lives in that “other side” of town where poverty, unemployment, and trouble have moved in like an unwanted relative. 

Like most fourteen-year-olds, Jesse needs and wants money, recognition, and hope. Jesse’s journey takes him down paths he never expected, some dark and dangerous, others mysterious and captivating. Along the way, he discovers a beguiling church with its mysterious voices. At the same time, he is being pursued by devilish influences. His life rides on a thin wire.
