Mark's Workshops

If you want to learn more about documentary filmmaking and conducting oral histories, you’re in the right place.  Mark’s knowledge and abilities earned him the 2018 Humanities Scholar Award from the Mississippi Humanities Council. for his extensive work interviewing combat soldiers and their loved ones, including Mississippi World War II Veterans, and his creation of Civil Rights-era documentaries.  

A veteran filmmaker, Mark is available for worships teaching students, teachers, and many organizations “The ABCs of Making a Documentary Film: From Concept to Creation.” Apply for his fee here.

A professional oral historian, Mark teaches the many facets of oral histories to groups, churches, schools, civic organizations through “Developing an Oral History from Concept to Creation.”

A Mississippi Arts Commission Roster Artist, Mark is available to give his award-winning program “In Their Boots: Voices of our Soldiers,” inspired by his years of interviews with combat veterans and their loved ones. Apply for his fee here.
